I know that I really want to change the pace of my life and the amount of stuff in it. There is huge cross over with the way I want to bring back Green Moral to talk about allotment growing.
But for a little while at least I am going to be here talking about things and trying to give stuff away but not so exclusively as before. I am also going to talk about stuff, ownership, taking care of things and being given stuff too.
Might also mention spending money on things and might even ask for stuff - who knows?
They make a very important point - one can live in relative comfort with 14 pounds of pack through burning desert and freezing mountain passes. Why then do we need so much stuff in our homes?
We don't actually need any of it. I think that my possestions posses me rather than I posses them.
Take for example my collection of Terry Pratchett books. They are all great books and they take up over a shelf in space. I love the guys work but how often do I even think about all those books?
Are they just gathering dust? (yes)
Could someone else enjoy them? (yes)
Is any joy coming from these books right now? (doubtful)
It is time for me to redouble my efforts and see just how little I actually need to live.
Talking of sharing my time - I have taken up a new post as in house guest blogger on go-beyond-mls.com. Feel free to swing by and say hi in the comments of my introductory post. I'll be talking about on-line promotion and facebook in the next few weeks and months. I will also be telling you more about how you can get me to guest blog for you.
It will go in three stages.
1. Saturday. This will see the bulk of the IT spare stuff go leaving only enough to gift two PCs in working order to two lucky people. Spare cases, motherboards, cards, drivers, cables and so forth are all departing for the home of someone who likes to build PCs.
2. TBA. A fully working PC will go to Penny.
3. TBA. A fully working PC will go to Shaz.
After that I will hopefully have no spare PC parts left at all.
Then, just now, after a chat with a good friend with whom I had, before today, lost contact I found a home for my endless supply of PC parts. So in the next few weeks they will all be shipping out.
That brings me almost to the end of the things that I can obviously think to give away and into the realm of things that I might not want to part with but will never miss when they are gone.
We will be starting with a mini hi-fi.
You never know where asking will get you.

This is one of those books that might want taking with a pinch of salt. The search for lost and forgotten worlds (not so forgotten now are they) and it takes in Stone Henge and Atlantis in a don't use this as a textbook approach.
I'm probably too sceptical to get anything from this book but it is yours for the price of nothing if you ask for it first.
